Hagdorn: Stadium result ‘disastrous’ for footy

Long-time West Australian football journalist Kim Hagdorn has launched a scathing attack on what he believes is a ‘potentially disastrous’ outcome for West Australian football.

On Monday, the WA Government handed the new Perth Stadium Management rights to the Stadium Australia management group.

In the process the Government overlooked a bid from Domain Stadium operators, Perth Stadium Management, the stadium operating arm of the West Australian Football Commission.

‘I am concerned. This is a potentially disastrous decision for WA football,’ Hagdorn said.

‘Where does WA football now generate some 15-million a year or be guaranteed 15-million a year from events?

‘Grassroots football is in real big trouble. Some WAFL clubs could die out of this disastrous decision today.’
