More and more GP clinics are abandoning bulk billing in an effort to keep doors open, new statistics from healthcare directory Cleanbill.

Fewer than ten per cent of clinics in WA bulk bill patients, one of the lowest rates in the country.

Cleanbill founder James Gillespie told Sean Cowan on 6PR Mornings while the numbers might look particularly dire, it’s a nationwide phenomenon.

“I’m fairly hopeful the  information can be used by government to better inform the policies that they’re pursuing,” Mr Gillespie said.
