Article image for GAME DAY: Nic Nat goal claims final moment win

A Nic Natanui goal on the siren won the game for the West Coast Eagles over Greater Western Sydney in a thrilling final few minutes at Spotless Stadium on Saturday. It was a one-point win for the Eagles after a see-sawing game against the Giants, 14.13 (97) to 14.12 (96).

Luke Shuey kicked a goal in the final moments to level the scores, but Rory Lobb gave his Giants a chance with his fourth goal to push his team in front yet again. A Josh Hill behind had spectators hearts in their throats, as the ball went out of bounds with nine seconds left on the clock, Nic Naitanui was able to gain possession and kick the winning goal.

There was a delay late in the game as Adam Kennedy was taken off the ground on a stretcher after he hit the ground from a Simon Tunbridge tackle.

The Giants lead at every other break and had control of the ball for most of the game, Dylan Shiel and Stephen Coniglio had their fair share of the ball with 30 and 28 disposals respectively.

Luke Shuey was impressive with his 38 disposals and important goal in the final quarter, while Brad Sheppard worked hard around the ground, coming up to kick his first goal of the season.
