Frequent flyer members have been left furious after losing their points due to their flight being cancelled.

After using points to book a flight, their flights were cancelled by the airline and their points gone.

Members can now take their complaints to a senate enquiry which was launched after it was revealed Qantas owed $170 million more in flight credits than it had originally admitted.

Press PLAY to hear how to get your frequent flyer points back

Frequent flyer expert and Editor-in-Chief at Point Hacks Daniel Sciberras told Julie-Anne Sprague onĀ 6PR Afternoons frequent flyer points are still valuable for the consumer but have become more complicated.

“Nowadays there are so many ways to earn points, and there are so many different ways to use points as well,” Mr Scriberras said.

“But now there’s a greater choice for people to use their points as well so I personally think it is better than what it was twenty years ago.”
