On Tuesday, the organisation is calling on the community to support its radio giving day, ensuring someone is always available to answer when mental health crisis support is needed.
Speaking to 6PR Breakfast hosts Millsy & Mick, Lifeline WA chief executive Sarah Fordham explained that donations help fund volunteer training, deliver mental health education and raise community awareness.
“We’ve got 600 volunteers … who need infrastructure, management, training and we take it very seriously because of the job they’re doing. The services that we’re delivering, we obviously advertise, educate, all of that costs money. That’s why we need giving days,” she said.
In 2025, 115,000 Western Australians called 13 11 14, and the organisation knows there will always be more in need of assistance.
“We want to be there for them,” Fordham said.
If you or someone you know needs support, call Lifeline on 13 11 14 or visit lifeline.org.au.
