Fremantle have stolen a five-point win in the dying seconds of the game against a winless North Melbourne at Domain Stadium on Saturday night.

The Dockers trialled for most of the game, but turned it around in the fourth quarter pushing the Kangaroos to the limit and Fremantle got within a point twice in the final minutes before Shane Kersten kicked the winning goal with only seconds left, finishing the game 9.13 (67) to 9.8 (62).

Scores were levelled at quarter time and the second quarter was owned by the visitors. North Melbourne kicked four goals to Fremantle’s nil for a 23-point lead at the first break.

Fremantle edged closer in the third term and continued their run in the final quarter for their thrilling win.

Marley Williams chased down Ed Langdon who was on his way to kicking his third goal of the game and it looked like North Melbourne were going to hang on for the win, but Michael Johnson pushed up the ground for a goal followed by Kersten’s winning shot.

David Mundy finished with 30 disposals, while Nat Fyfe, Lachie Weller and Johnson all finished with 26 disposals apiece.

Last time the two teams met, North Melbourne won by 31-points, but they haven’t won at Domain Stadium the last three times they’ve made the trip across to Perth.

North Melbourne rested Braydon Preuss and made a late change with Shaun Higgins out of the side because he’s ‘a little bit tight in the hamstring’.
