The finance union has taken the Commonwealth Bank to the Fair Work Commission after the bank withdrew more than 40,000 work from home contracts from employees.

The Finance Sector Union is arguing Commonwealth is going against already-established agreements, as well as it’s workers’ wishes.

FSU National Secretary Julia Angrisano told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings despite the fact we are in a post-Covid environment, flexible work arrangements have proven to be effective in many contexts.

“It’s very much become a part of the finance sector, like many other sectors, and wanting to just switch that off as the Commonwealth Bank wants to do with this particular mandate – and effecting the lives of workers – is why we’re now seeking the assistance of the Commission,” Ms Angrisano said.
