A Perth FIFO worker is finally on his way back home from the Northern Territory to see his one-month-old baby for the first time.

Brad Patterson was working in the NT while the State’s borders were closing, meanwhile his wife was giving birth to their second child.

On Monday afternoon, Brad received the news he’d been waiting for… he was given permission to travel back to Perth and he only steps away from meeting his new baby girl.

“Thankfully with technology these days I got to witness the birth on video chat, which was a different experience from the first baby,” Mr Patterson told 6PR Breakfast.

He does still have to be in quarantine for two weeks when he returns, but he can see the light.

“I can’t put it into words; it’s going to be something really special holding her for the first time,” Mr Patterson told Steve and Baz.
