The famous Duyfken replica has left Western Australian shores forever, but its memory will not be forgotten.

The original Duyfken sailed from Indonesia to Cape York in 1606 and it was the first ship in Australia’s history.

Graeme Cocks, Author of Through Darkest Seas, got emotional while speaking with Jo McManus about his personal experiences on the Duyfken replica.

“These ships are about people actually…so the ship isn’t going to be forever but the memories of the people, and there amazing people you get with these ships,” Mr. Cocks said.
