Dockers Claim Easy Win Over Saints

Article image for Dockers Claim Easy Win Over Saints

The Fremantle Dockers were too good against the St Kilda Saints at Etihad Stadium on Sunday, easily running out 37-point winners, 8.11 (59) to 15.6 (96).

Fremantle dominated right from the start with seven goals from seven separate goal kickers in the first quarter to the Saints one goal at the first break. The trend continued for Fremantle with the Saints wayward kicks not helping their cause.

Although the Saints pushed to narrow the margin by kicking the final four goals of the game, the Dockers damage had already been done.

Fremantle subbed out Luke McPharlin in the third quarter who went off to ice his calf on the bench as Lachie Weller took off his green vest for his second game and faced up against his brother, Maverick Weller.

Lachie Neale was outstanding with his 35 disposals while David Mundy worked hard for his 33 touches.
