In what is gearing up to be one of the most expensive court cases in Australian history, WA’s iron ore heirs will go to war in the Supreme Court today.

Gina Rinehart will step up to take on mining mogul Peter Wright’s family over royalties from the Hope Downs mine in the Pilbara.

WA Today journalist Jesinta Burton told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast it’s a trial that’s been a decade in the making.

“It’s bound to go for several months… it’s all about the assets that were discovered by Lang Hancock and Peter Wright,” Ms Burton said.
