‘Big budget bites’: Perth locals are paying $20,000 every year for transport

New data from the RAC has revealed Perth locals are paying $20,000 a year just to get around the city, taking up more than 14 percent of the average household’s income.
RAC General Manager of External Relations Will Goldsby told Gary Adshead this is just a snapshot of the rising transport costs.
“We often talk about electricity and water rates but transport increases are there and they’re really being felt,” Mr Goldsby said.
