Trades are being pushed as the way to go for high school graduates with the benefits of being a tradie set to be highlighted in a speech today.

Plumbing and Bricklaying are in the top five vocations in the country, despite a skills shortage. And the director of Master Builders WA says there’s plenty of benefits of vocational training and apprenticeships.

“You come out the other side with some really valuable learning experience,” John Gelavis told 6PR Breakfast.
