Beachgoers warned as Surf Lifesaving patrols come to an end

We Australian beachgoers are being warned that patrols by the Lifesaver Helicopter Service are winding down.

The choppers will fly their final patrols for the summer season today.

Shark sightings are up 60 per cent this summer – with sharks spotted on 430 occasions.

Surf Life Saving WA General Manager Chris Peck told Julie-anne Sprague on 6PR Afternoons with more sharks being spotted, beach closures were up by more than 70 per cent.
