Bankwest is closing several Perth metropolitan branches citing the large move to digital transactions and the increased difficulty in keeping branches open.

National President of the Finance Sector Union of Australia Wendy Streets spoke with Oly Peterson on 6PR’s Perth Live.

“Even though they [Commonwealth Bank] own Bankwest and when it suits them they talk about themselves as a group, they separate them out and they won’t give us the same commitment to cease closing Bankwest branches at the same time as Commonwealth Bank branches.”
