A new survey has found two thirds of students weren’t connecting with important Australian history through the way it’s currently being presented.

Western Sydney University teaching lecturer Doctor Kay Carroll told Mick and Gena on 6PR Breakfast young students aren’t engaging in content they see as “adult”.

“They know about the Anzacs, they’re very familiar with some of the resources and attributes like mateship, but they really don’t necessarily get engaged with that because it happened so long ago,” Dr Carroll said.
