GPs say telehealth system needs urgent overhaul to keep patients safe
The President of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners is calling for an urgent overhaul of telehealth and telephone consultations.
It was brought in to enable patients to remotely consult with their GP – during the height of the COVID-19 crisis earlier this year.
Dr Harry Nespolon told Gareth Parker on Mornings whilst it’s been widely popular and successful – something needs to be done about so called pop up telehealth businesses that providing insufficient and potentially dangerous health advice.
