Nippers have returned to Sorrento for the 2026–2027 season, just a month after local Greg O’Neill was tragically killed in a shark attack.

Praising the club for handling the tragedy so well, 6PR Mornings host Simon Beaumont asked Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club President Rob Doherty how the club supported the Nippers community through this difficult period.

“We did a lot of work before yesterday with communication to our members, because what we’re going to find is – and I think you touched on it – some will go in the water and some won’t”, Doherty said.
