One Nation puts policy over politics to back Coalition’s flag-burning ban
A One Nation senator has expressed support for a Coalition proposal to introduce tougher laws against burning the Australian flag.

The policy would see offenders face up to 12 months in jail, while also imposing serious penalties for those who deface public war memorials or historical statues.
WA One Nation Senator Tyron Whitten told 6PR Mornings host Simon Beaumont that, despite his party’s similar proposal receiving little support from the Liberals last year, he welcomed the policy being raised again.
“As long as we get the result, I’m not precious about how it gets there. We’re for good ideas and we’ll vote for them, the same as we won’t vote for bad ideas”, Whitten said.
