New WA law ends discrimination in assisted reproduction
Western Australia’s assisted reproductive laws have finally been aligned with the rest of the country, removing discriminatory barriers to surrogacy and assisted reproductive technology.

Health Minister Meredith Hammat told Perth Today host Chrissy Morrissy that while there is an 18-month implementation period, the changes will soon open up new opportunities.
“Theres a huge number of people that will now have opportunities to give birth, have their children here in Western Australia who haven’t been able to do that until now,” she said.
