‘Poor salesman’ AFL CEO criticised over divisive new finals format
The AFL’s new wildcard finals format is causing plenty of reaction as attention starts to turn to next season.
Five weeks of finals will be played from 2026, with teams who finish ninth and 10th qualifying to play seven and eight for a spot in an Elimination Final.
“Gee (Andrew Dillon is) a poor salesman,” Brad Hardie said on 6PR’s Wide World of Sports.
“I just think he had the first go at (selling the new format)…most of the surveys I’ve seen are not in favour.”
