One council is bucking the trend of ditching fireworks in favour of drone shows with the City of Cockburn set to bring them back.

Acting mayor, Chontelle Stone, says the council looked into reports about fireworks and found some fireworks minimised the environmental impacts.

“To be honest, we have decided fireworks, when it’s a once-off, it’s fine,” she told 6PR Breakfast.
