The WA Liberal Party has a new deputy leader.

Member for the Agricultural Region in the upper house  Steve Martin  has been elected unopposed.

Yesterday party leader Libby Mettam asked Steve Thomas to step down because of dealings with former Labor Premier Brian Burke.

Ms METTAM says shadow portfolios will be decided on, in coming days.
