Two Perth teenagers have been recognised for their heroic work in saving the life of  a kayaker.

Thirteen-year-old Harry and 15-year-old Tom Linehan pulled the man out of the surf after he fell into the water about 150 metres off of Sorrento Beach.

Tom told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast the brother’s surf lifesaving training definitely came into play.

“I’d recommend anyone do it; I guess the first thing I wanted to do when I got out there was make sure the guy was alright,” Tom said.
