Business magnates are expected to hand over thousands of dollars this week when Federal Treasurer Jim Chalmers hosts a major Labor fundraiser in Perth.

The Treasurer will welcome anyone who pays to a “boardroom lunch” as part of the Government’s networking, a fact that got Millsy and Karl debating on 6PR Breakfast.

6PR listener Mike said this kind of event wasn’t new; he attended a similar lunch during the John Howard government.

“Al it is, is getting in and getting jobs; you go there, you pay the money and then you’re known,” he said.
