06 Premiership ‘Tarnished, not Tainted’

Sports journalist, Kim Hagdorn, has dismissed a leaked 2008 report about the West Coast Eagles as ‘nothing new’.

News Corp released the report put together by retired Victorian Supreme Court judge, William Gillard; Kim Hagdorn told 6PR Breakfast the report was sanctioned by the AFL in 2007 and was leaked to Melbourne media only days before the start of the AFL 2017 season but it’s nothing we don’t already know.

‘There’s no doubt the Eagles had a serious illicit drugs culture raging through the last decade,’ Hagdorn says.

When asked if the Eagles should lose Premiership points or have medals taken away from them as a result of the report being released, Hagdorn said. ‘No, because the AFL has already reacted on this report’.
And added, ‘this is not a tainted Premiership of ’06, it is tarnished and they continue to be kicked in the guts for it.’
