UPDATE: Police have arrested a 37 year-old man following a shooting in Perth’s south.

Barra Close in Leeming remains cordoned off, after shots were fired at a home just before 1:20am this morning.

Mia Edgerton-Warburton from Nine News has told 6PR Mornings host Liam Bartlett that no one was injured.

“I believe it’s a family of five that lived in that home, there was couple asleep in a bderoom when that bullet entered,” she said.

“Nevertheless very scary for everyone that’s home and quite traumatic for those young children.”

Nine News reporter Zarisha Bradley told 6PR Breakfast that police are reporting there is no threat to the community at this stage.

“We have just spoken to neighbours this morning who heard at least one loud bang just before 1:30am,” she said.

“A section of the street is still cornered off.”

Police were called to a property on Barra Close in Leeming, believing a shotgun was fired just before 1:30am.

Nine News reporter Zarisha Bradley told Gareth Parker that inquiries are continuing. 

“All police are confirming is that no one has been injured and everyone involved is known to each other,” she said.

“It all very much unfolding, but that person who discharged the firearm is still outstanding.”

It is not known at this stage whether the incident is linked to outlaw motorcycle gangs.
