The battle of Mont St Quentin and Peronne
The attack of Australian troops on the German strong-hold of Mont St Quentin and Peronne in August/September 1918 is considered by many as the greatest military achievement of the war. The under-strength Australians in three days of fighting stormed and seized the German line and captured over 2500 prisoners freeing up the British Advance.
