New road rules when motorists overtaking cyclists

Yesterday a minimum passing distance was announced to come into effect November 3oth. Under the new road rule drivers travelling under 60km/h must maintain a distance of 1 metre when overtaking cyclists on the road and 1.5 metres when travelling over 60km/h.
