WA Labor Member for Perth John Carey kicked it off by sharing his favourite spot to watch the jacarandas – Hyde Park and he voiced his opinion about Council CEO pay transparency.

It might be because it not only gives colour, but shade. It might be because it makes you smile on your stressful commute. Perhaps it reminds you of your childhood, or because you once climbed it.

I love this tree because it‘s one of the first to bloom. You can see it at the freeway overpass at the end of Kings Park Road where it meets the Terrace. Not only does it herald the beginning of summer, but the entry to the city. This tree makes me happy.
