103rd Anniversary of The Nek
2018 marks the 103rd anniversary of The Nek. During the First World War, the Nek was a narrow portion land across the top of Monash Valley. The Nek was a position on the northern end of the ANZAC front line. At the dawn of August 7 1915. The trenches were filled with the Turkish. Leaving little-to-no hope for the ANZAC troops.
234 Australian fatalities. Yet no ground was gained.
Military Historian Jay Walsh joined Harvey Deegan on Remember When for this snapshot into our military history.
