Simon Beaumont: Profile

Simon Beaumont has worked as a Producer, Reporter and Presenter on various Perth radio programs since 2001.

He has a background in sports journalism, and has worked at the last two Olympic Games in press operations.


What was your first job?
Apprentice Instrument Fitter at Australian Iron and Steel in the late 1970's.

What is your favourite on air moment thus far?
Realising that at 6PR, the panel operator pushes all the buttons and does the hard stuff.

What is your most embarrassing on air moment?
Forgetting which station I was working for, on my first shift, and reading out the wrong station's talkback number.

If you could interview anyone (living or dead) who would it be?
Bradley John Murdoch, Dr Gregory House and the girl in the "5 Cougars, thanks" ad.
