RSPCA Pet of the Week - Geared

Geared is a Red Heeler cross Kelpie the RSPCA estimates is between 1-2 years old who found himself at the Society after being surrendered by his owner who could no longer look after him properly.

He’s a lively boy who will definitely benefit from training. He has had very little training during his short life which is a shame because a dog as intelligent as Geared obviously is, would benefit from sustained mental stimulation.

Being a cross between two working dogs also means that Geared is a dog who can run and run and then run again. He’s happiest when he is outside, preferably chasing a ball, or even a Frisbee. Being smart, Geared is always up for some investigation and just as his training will benefit him, so will any and all involvement in your life.

The RSPCA recommends Geared go to a family with older children simply because he is a boisterous animal and could easily knock over a nipper.

Geared is a lovely character  who will do well with an owner who is prepared to put in those extra few hours in making sure his mind, as well as his body, are stimulated.
