West Coast have come back into winning form by demolishing their cross-town rivals by 41-points at Domain Stadium on Saturday night.

The Eagles flew into the first quarter to kick four unanswered goals and although Fremantle could not catch up, they never gave up, fighting right to the end for the final scoreline 16.7 (103) to 9.8 (62).

Josh Kennedy kicked an impressive six goals for the game and took home the Ross Glendinning medal as best on ground.
It wasn’t all bad news for Freo with Connor Blakely racking up a career-high 30 disposals and Cam McCarthy showing promise with his three goals.  And 250-gamer Aaron Sandilands clocked up 52 hit outs in his milestone game.

The game wasn’t without controversy with Nat Fyfe and Elliot Yeo putting up a tough competition against each other and resulted in a frustrated Fyfe pushing his elbow back into Yeo which could see him in trouble with the MRP.

“We thought it was going to be a real battle tonight so to start like we did was really pleasing and what we saw in the second half I thought is what they’re about; how hard they go at it and how contested they do play” West Coast Coach Adam Simpson said after the game.
