Fremantle snatched a 35-point victory from the Carlton Blues after trailing for the first half of the match.
The bigger Fremantle bodies proved to strong and eventually took there toll on a young Carlton side travelling away from home leading to the 13.8.86 to  7.9.51 scoreline.

Carlton finished with only two on rotation with both Same Rowe (knee injury) and Dale Thomas (concussion) taken out of the game.

Michael Walters played a big part in turning the game around for his Dockers with three goals to the quick forward, while Connor Blakely had one of his best games with a career high 33 disposals and nine tackles.
