Video: Bully beat down

Posted by: Paul Entwistle | 16 March, 2011 - 7:36 AM
Warning: The video contained in this article displays acts of violence that may be distressing to some people. Viewer discretion is advised

The bully and victim in this video were both suspended as was the boy who filmed the incident. What are your thoughts? Should the victim have been suspended? Should the principal be suspended for allowing bullying to get to this level?

  • Parents of Bully + Bully - Major disappointment to humanity.

There's no magic bullet to this.

Bully's parents did a bad job or rather, no job of instilling discipline/respect for others in their own child. It shows when they wanted to sue the victim. Shows that they are reactive to child upbringing than thinking ahead and being proactive in moulding their child to be a USEFUL PERSON TO SOCIETY. Clearly a big fail from the Parents.

Casey stopped his attacker with sufficient force and walked away - that is respectable.

Note that the focus has always been on the 2 kids. How about the camera kid, the taller kid who stood infront of casey after? Is it evidence that alot of parents aren't doing their rightful bit to discipline and teach respect + other useful societal values to their children before letting them out into the world? I believe the parents are themselves, pretty ill disciplined or simply do not care - resulting in what you term a Latchkey Kid.

Theres no way to police such things, implementing any policy to fix this will be a waste of time too.

Everyone has to do their part in life. You play yours, i play mine and everyone's fine.

Put the Bully under a Mentor who can examine the household for other problems. Don't expel the kid - only gives him a reason to hate. Maybe put him in a capital punishment boys home even, to straighten him up.

Spare the cane and spoil the child. I say give the kid some. The values they learn come from the parents, if the parents have low-standards of societal values, the kid is most times worse (generalizing, but it's pretty obvious).

  • The big guy should be given a metal. Guarantee the little sh#t wont do it again. The PARENTS of the little sh#t are to blame. If you dont raise your chilren in the right manner, then they will end up like this little sh#t. Bloody politicians making out there going to stop bullying. What a load of cow sh#t. Its the PARENTS responsibility "WAKE UP WORLD".God bless the the big bloke. There is only so must kids will take before they crack. Every God damn person on this planet can only take so much before we crack. POLITICIANS, SCHOOL TEACHERS STOP MAKING BLOODY EXCUSES. THE BUCK STOPS WITH THE PARENTS, NOT THE KID. Why suspend a child, its does nothing.EDUCATE THE BLOODY PARENTS....Big fella your a legend.

You may want to check your facts before making a comment next time. The school is in St Mary's a western suburb in Sydney. There's is nothing CATHOLIC about it!
Don't know what sort of 'teacher' you are but perhaps you may like to hone your computer skills and google some facts on the school. At the same time, do some geography lessons. I suppose there is no BULLYING at your GOVT school is there? Just like I'm sure there are no drugs! FYI...
Chifley College was established in 2000 by the State Government and the Department of Education and Training (DET) to provide enhanced educational opportunities for students of Western Sydney. The five original Mt Druitt district Years 7-12 high schools, Bidwill High. Dunheved High, Mt Druitt High, Shalvey High and Whalan High were amalgamated to form a multi campus college.

  • The attacker should be expelled, he can always move to other schools.

Video evidence showed that the big boy only defended himself. Why should he get suspended?? It wasn't even his fault.

on this case, the teacher and principal is partly at fault as well for failing to monitor school ground bullying.

  • Unfair treatment of the big guy. He's the victum the bully should be the one punished. Good on the big kid for finally protecting himself. No student should have to put up with that treatment. What was disappointing was that no other student was telly the bully to stop. If I was the parent of ther bully I would be very disappointed in him and grounding him for a very long time.

  • When your a big guy people see it, teachers see it, they watch you belt 6's with ease, kick the footy from 50 mtrs. So going to a teacher about bullying when you are both taller & stronger than anybody else at school was also my problem. After 1 useless conversation with a teacher, who clearly thought given my size, it allowed this attitude/behaviour towards me & in less than 5 minutes i became a weapon. On the rare occasions people challenged me at highschool and following discusions with teachers & principals it was clear they were on the side of the percieved smarter kids and anybody smaller than myself.

Teachers beware of the seeds you sew!

i loved the system & getting violent, funnily enough i never started anything but always got the blame from gutless teaching staff.
