'Trivial' matter plagues Barnett

Posted by: Paul Entwistle | 3 February, 2012 - 8:08 AM
Premier Colin Barnett is preying for the James Larsson incident to go away.

The Premier has become increasingly angry at journalists continued questions over the 'trivial' sacking of media advisor James Larsson. At a conference yesterday Gary Adshed (The West) and Geof Parry (CH7) brought out the cranky side of Colin Barnett, who still managed to avoid answering questions on the dismissal.

  • I agree that Mr. Barnett has let power go to his head. He is allowing a Government department to chop down 100 year-old trees. These are the largest trees they can find, these trees should live for 1000 years. So many people have asked him to spare OUR remnant forests but short term gain, long time suffering is the by word for Barnett's government.

  • People need to realise the Colin Barnett is a law unto himself..he is arrogant in all situations; the power has gone to his head, some humility might be nice Mr Barnett.

  • Gary Adshead was a presenter
on 6PR. He is very Far Leftie
    with a very nasty agenda.
    He is very well balanced
with a chip on each shoulder.
    We need diversity in the
    media instead of this "Far
    Leftie Gig", which is so
    dull and boring!

  • What really is Gary Adshead's agenda and how honest is he being regarding the photo issue of Mark McGowan's house.Surely that was dealt with decisively and appropriately. Adshead is getting inordinate air and newspaper space - why? Why did he not raise this matter which occurred on 16 January, until 12 days later (is it a coincidence that he only went feral one day after the Australia day disturbance in Canberra??). Who is he protecting when he has not one word to say about that far more serious issue, with far more serious consequences, and which had a 24 hour period of denial by Labor which still rankles - are they his mates and he is leading a distraction campaign here? And why is he so disrespectful only to one side of politics - in yesterday's Sketch he derogatively referred to the Premier as "the emperor" no less than six times rather than as Premier - is that the level of journalism we want from your mate, the State Political Editor? Balanced and unbiased - hardly.
