Should everybody vote?

Why should you be forced to vote? Follow the arguement here with 6PR.

With so little choice on the political table ahead of next years state election, why should people give up their Saturday to vote for people they don't like? Paul Armstrong took up the debate with anti compulsory voting advocate Norman Moore who is the Minister for Electoral Affairs.

  • As Norman has stated you don't have to vote, just turn up and have your name crossed off. I have been doing this for years as I haven't liked any of the Politicians "promises" and don't think any of them have deserved my vote. It would be nice to not have to do this ridiculous action of turning up and having papers shoved at you by all the parties and get your name crossed off.I have actually voted when it has been something like daylight saving.
