Protesters have it wrong
Ted Hart is a member of the team negotiating for the $1 billion native title deal for the Nyoongar people. Ted told Howard Sattler the protesters on Heirisson Island don't have the right information and haven't bothered to get the right information from the negotiating team. He also said the spokesman at the camp is not even a Nyoongar person and questioned why the children at the camp were not in school.

About this protest at Herrisson Island. This is really rascial discrimination against white people. We can't do this what they are doing, however I think what they are doing is an attemp to upset everyone including Nyoongar people. Half of them have no idea what there protesting about. As we can't launch into a battle over this as it would be counter productive. An excalation of violence would occur to white people. The only avenue that we have to to let it die off and it will. Not what most of us would like to do but do we have a choice?

Paying t aboriginal people off to continue t destruction of our native forests, to clear fell endangered species habitat is a crime against humanity & ecocide. Our earth is priceless, what price do we pay for clean water & air. Always was, always will be, aboriginal land. Save our forests!

How about everyone sit down and discuss the issues at hand? SWALSC could turn up to Nyoongar Tent Embassy, or invite the Elders to meet with them. Problem is dissatisifcation grows when people are dismissed. Native Title has failed every Aboriginal community in Australia and if they signed on some dotted line they risk ceding a bundle of present and future rights away. However everything is always just a number of legitimate conversations away.
