UFC fans and officials still don't know why UFC bouts are banned in Perth.

Premier Colin Barnett is still refusing to meet with officials from the Ultimate Fighting Championship to explain why he has banned the cage from MMA matches in Perth. Paul Murray spoke to UFC Director of Operations, Tom Wright, who is in Perth to campaign against the ban.

  • Glad somebody is behind this push on a ridiculous ban proposed by do-gooders and folks with no appreciation for the sport. Its not some anything-goes bloodsport, its an exciting drawcard with phenomenal athletes that could finally give us a drawcard sporting event, seeing as we no longer have the red bull air race or the langley park stage of the world rally championship. If you don't like the sport don't go, but don't make decisions that leave the rest of WA missing out and make us look backwards in our progressive state.

  • This is important to alot of people MMA has a huge number of fans in Australia and dinosaurs like Colin Barnett have no place regulating this sport.

  • Thanks for pushing this issue Mr. Murray. I appreciate it and so do other fans and practitioners.

    Cheers.
