Political party's divine ambition
A new WA political party, based on traditional Christian values, has begun it's recruitment drive with a goal of becoming the states biggest political party. Paul Murray spoke to the West Australia Party's State Director Teresa van Lieshout.

Haha, JW, why don't you go and join FM in Iran. You're both ignorant men, you'll fit well in an Islamic theocracy. He deserves it for insulting me with his comment. Obviously atheists can dish it out, but they can't take it. And before you label me as a feminist, I'm not, so far I have all men helping me in the West Australian Party.

TvL, you might want to get your own bullying and name calling in line before sharing your thoughts with us.

The previous comment that "political decisions based on religious belief is dangerous" is untrue. The Islamic theocracy which controls Iran is very different from the Christian faith which has influenced free nations. Religions are not all the same: there are significant differences in ethics and ideology - just as there are fundamental differences in secular, political philosophies. Each has a profound societal impact, and the worldviews it influences need to be carefully considered. The belief systems of Nazism, Facism and Communism which claimed the lives of millions - inflicting incalculable suffering - was based on atheism.
Judeo-Christian-humanitarian ideology has made a very positive contribution to the freedom and quality of life enjoyed in Western nations, and should be upheld.Karen Bos Monday 30 January, 2012 - 10:59 AM -
You go and live in Iran, FM, moron.

Like I said, theological thinking drives political thinking, not the other way round, and this is true for atheists also.

Truly frightening. If she wants to live in a theocracy she should move to Iran. Basing political decisions on religious belief is dangerous and has no place in Australia
