Perth's growing hunger
Foodbank Australia today released it's inaugural End Hunger 2012 Report which shows that demand for food relief is growing in low income families. Howard Sattler spoke to Foodbank WA CEO Greg Hebble about the Perth people who are struggling to buy food.

Middle and double income families 'needing' Foodbank: I would be looking at what sort of houses these 'poor' people are living in. Are they living beyond their means? Do they run clothes dryers, dishwashers and air conditioners? Are they trying to keep up with the Jones's? How many of these middle income couples own more than one property? How many of them have their money tied up in shares? Do they drive a petrol guzzler or two? Are they paying others to do their ironing and housework? If that's the case, I can't see this as being 'in need'.
