  • Paul when Kevin Rudd was prime minister he never did his job-- how could he he was never in Australia long enough. Now that he is no longer foreign minister we may save some more moneybecause once again he was never home.As for being back stabbed ,he was laid off because he wasn,t doing the job very well at all.All the people saw was the mirror image. It is like they say -- no one knows what goes on behind closed doors unless you are in the room.goodness knows what was going on!!

  • Paul, I listened with interest to the comments made by the Premier (Mr Barnett) in relation to not being able to introduce legislation to have mandatory sentencing for assaults against the likes of aged people (as witnessed over recent days to the 89 year old gentleman). The reason given in short was due to the potentially seeing similar aged persons (the example used in nursing homes) assaulting someone, yet Mr Barnett went on to say that a lot of cases do't even make the courts due to the circumstances (ie the assailants age, cognitive skills etc). However, if you are Police Officer there is mandatory sentencing....Are you telling me that a person of senior years with impaired cognitive skills who assaults a Police Officer is automatically jailed? No, the Police and Prosecution look at the merits of each case (well I hope they do)and therefore would not bring a charge of assault in these circumstances. So therefore, why can't the legislation be amended for mandatory sentencing? Is this double speak or double standards. Whatever the situation, the community expectations are not being met, will not be met and never will be....so why does the Community continue to raise these issues when their voice is never heard (regardless of which Political Party is in government)....Just my thoughts.

  • Who is this Paul person who causes such angst? Radio media in the morning and early arvo is always contentious, ala John Laws and Alan Jones et el. Bite me. And every big-headed pollie cannot wait to have their say : it's great for the radio stations and it's great for the pollies.
Anywho, I reckon this Paul person is probably a quite quiet little person living his quite quiet little life in his quite quiet midddle to high-middle class suburb simply due to the fact that fools like us give his quite over-wrought performances credence. Not that I'd know.

  • Hope the politicians don't plan on giving themselves a pay rise any time soon I'm pretty sure they get more than me . I got a pay rise, I was earning $19.00/hr and now with a pay rise I now earn $19.20/hr. WHOOPEE! I have to work 5 hours to earn an extra $1!! Wonder if that covers the cost of electricity rises from the state & carbon tax? I think not.
