Party laws draconian, populist

Posted by: Paul Entwistle | 26 September, 2012 - 8:48 AM
News laws to control unruly parties have gone too far according one civil liberty advocate.

The new laws targeting out of control parties have been labelled draconian and un-Australian by the Civil Liberties Council of WA. Paul Murray spoke to the council's president Peter Weygers about his thoughts on the legislation that is set to be supported through parliament by both parties.

Blog comments Your Say

  • If freedom is so hated, why not move to north korea where freedom hating Australians can be safe from the wild menace of young people? I dont see any curbing of noisy police helicopters causing a massive racket in the early hours of the morning, buzzing overhead for hours low over my suburb. These politicians are truly out of control and on a warpath against basic rights and freedoms protected by law, they are the real menace, and that is a historical fact
