Banning the Prime Minister from WA during the WA election has been labelled the right move.

Mark McGowan's decision to keep Julia Gillard out of next year's state election campaign has been given the nod of approval by senior political analysts. Paul Murray spoke to former Hawke and Keating senior minister Graham Richardson.

  • How is keeping Julia Gillard away from them, going to protect them? All the state labour leaders and opposition leaders have fully supported the introduction of the Carbon Tax and Mining Tax. They may be federal matters, but the state labour bodies could have tried to get Julia Gillard to water them down or delay them.

The state labour people are just as guilty and tainted as the federal labour party and I hope that all voters remember that.
