Eagles fans are a feral mob

Posted by: Paul Entwistle | 13 August, 2012 - 9:02 AM
West Coast Eagles fans have been labelled ferel and the worst supporters in the country.

Geelong's chief executive Brian Cook and coach Chris Scott have labelled the behaviour of the pro Eagles crowd at Patterson's stadium as unacceptable. Paul Murray spoke to The West Australian's football writer Mark Duffield about crowd behaviour in the west.

Blog comments Your Say

  • We have been Fremantle members since they started and I take my two kids (14 year old girl and 6 year old boy) to every one of our home games with the exception of the Derbies. It is the only game of the year where the opposition supporters are not something I would subject my kids to... Rude, Abusive, Foul Language and Aggressive!! Ask the security at Subi they hate Eagles home games for that reason they say their supporters are the worst they have to deal with..

  • you freo fans are pathetic. you werent even at the game, your just listening to the media hype and obviously running with it because your a bunch of jealous souls. get over it, there is good and bad in every crowd, i have been to many freo games and you mob boo your own team. Hawkins was never booed and chris scott is a sore loser. would he be saying anything if they won? highly doubt it. up the mighty eagles

  • I'm a Fremantle member and I take my two boys to the games. I decided this year not to go when we play the eagles or collingwood as my children have been abused and picked on in previous years. I think it's a shame we miss out on a family night together because of fans that can't control their drinking and think they can pick on someone who can fight back.

  • Who could forget the time the Eagles fans pelted Josh Carr with bottles and pies when he gave Daniel Kerr a perfectly legal hip and shoulder in a derby back in 2007.

And to thik the same fans used to cheer John Worslfold for doing the same, if not worse.

  • Its a typical ploy by the vics to destablise the Eagles and try and nulify the effect of the fans have on visiting teams. It is just like when Alistair Clarkson started the uproar on free kicks, the media jumped onboard and the umpiring changed for the worse. Collingwood also had a go before their match against the Eagles and look at the resultant umpiring.

  • Of course Eagles suppporters at the match are feral and the worst in the league. If there are only one or three numbskulls who make bad comments, then why didn't the supporters around the numbskulls dob them in via the SMS line at the ground? Because they are complicit, that's why. That's why we should criticise the Eagles suppporters.
