Adrian Barich's career as a footballer began when he was just 7 years old, however is wasn't in Aussie Rules but Rugby. He coverted to Australian Rules when he was 16 and began his senior career in W.A. with Perth in 1983.
Adrian went on to captain the club and is best fairest winner and life member.
In 1987 he was selected to be an inaugural member of the West Coast Eagles and played in their historic first game. He went on to play 47 games including a final for the club and retired after the Eagles 1992 premiership season. In all he played 213 senior games.
In 1995 he joined WA's newly formed National Rugby League club, the Western Reds and played for two seasons. Making a smooth transition from footballer to sports journalist, Adrian has been a television sports reporter and presenter since 1995.
Barra, as he's known, has a long history with 6PR which started in 1987 when he appeared on a weekly Social Security segment.
After filling in for Graham Mabury on his celebrated "Nightline" on several occasions, Adrian joined 6PR full-time when he teamed up with good friend Basil Zempilas in 2001 to host the Breakfast Program. Two and a half years later he joined Sports Today, now known as Sports Central.
In that time, Perth's only nightly sport-show has won a series of awards highlighted by the 2005 Australian radio award for their coverage of the 20/20 match between WA and Victoria.
